About me

Jordi Jurado. Barcelona, 1986.

If you’re wondering what I’m doing right now, the answer is that I’ll probably be in some corner of the world capturing smiles from locals for the Smile4Us project, moving around hitchhiking, sitting in the square of a small town talking to locals or recycling food and distributing it among the needy.

But let’s start with the beginning. I would lie if I say that nonstop traveling has always been my passion. Even coming from a family of real travelers, I had more than enough touristing anywhere a few days per year.

Everything changed when a little more than 10 years ago I went to my visit my older brother, who was on Erasmus in the UK. I saw a brand new world and knew I wanted to be part of it. I began to direct my priorities and my life to it to the point that the following years I was travelling as much as I could and spending summers abroad. Finally, after few years doing that, I went definitely abroad to study and later on, I stayed working.

But the story doesn’t finish like that, on January 2015 my life totally changed again. I left behind my apartment and my job, I sold half of my properties and I sent the other half back to my parents’ house. And the most important thing, bought a one-way ticket. The important part was not the country itself but to travel around only with the following objective: Learn as much as I could in each city or country I stept in, knowing in depth the people who dwell there, help to the extent possible and share my experiences with those who wanted to follow me in this adventure.

Currently, having passed more than two years, I still find myself traveling and discovering this amazing world of ours. And even if it started as a kind of 6 or 12 months off thing, it’s my life now and I do not see an specific end to it. Only time will tell :)
