If passing by Bishkek you are searching for a central and classy hotel where to sojourn, you should definitely check out Ambassador Hotel. Located between embassies, as its name can indicate you already, and in a really quite neighborhood, this is a sophisticated 3-year-old hotel where you can enjoy your time in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
The quality of their rooms we think is really adequate and the best part of it, and what actually we consider one of the most important things in a hotel, is the bed. Big and really comfortable, soft enough to enclose you but not to sink in it.
During your stay, if you are a fitness fan or you just want to keep yourself in shape, there is a little gym that you can use whenever you like, since is opened 24 hours. Right next to it there is a sauna, that you can use just informing the reception half an hour before, so they can get it ready for you. The thing you should know too is that, both the gym and sauna, are located in Solutel, the hotel brother of Ambassador, but don’t worry because it’s only few steps away.
In the streets next to the hotel there are different restaurants and cafes where to enjoy a meal, but also at the rooftop of Ambassador there is the vintage-decorated Times Bar, open from 12 PM until 5 AM everyday. We didn’t try their food, but the view of Bishkek was really nice from up there. Speaking about food, in the morning at the first floor, the breakfast will be served from 7 AM to 10 AM during week days and until 11 AM during the weekend. Very thoughtful in case you stayed up until a little later and want to get some more rest.
The breakfast is a buffet with a really great cold dishes section, with cold cuts, fishes, a lot of different kinds of cheeses, salads, fruits and pastries, that in general we loved, and a few less impressive hot dishes. In addition you can also order a set dish, choosing between oatmeal, different egg preparations and pancakes.
The hotel is right in the downtown, only five minutes walking away from Ala-Too square, but in case you want to explore more in depth the city and its outskirts there are available mountain bikes for rent. Great to move fast avoiding the traffic jams. On the other hand, if you are more an indoor person in the main hall there is a little library for the guests, that even if the majority of books are in Russian, you may find something appealing.
So for a luxury stay in Bishkek, either if you are on a business or leisure trip, Ambassador could be the right choice.
