Who, being a kid, wasn’t amazed seeing his/her grandmother and mother cooking in kitchen? Who didn’t try to imitate them to feel like a chef? Exactly like this, from observing and trying, is how Somontha, head chef of Khmer Touch Cuisine, developed her passion and love for the food.
Definitely you can feel, see and taste all the enthusiasm that she has in the kitchen. The execution of the courses that we tried was simply incredible, not only how they tasted but also how they were presented. The main line of the menu is the celebration of the street Khmer food brought to a more refined level, made possible by using high quality ingredients served in a contemporary style.
One great example of the chef’s cooking philosophy is the Khmer rice cake. This is a simple dish made with three poor ingredients, but just taking care of some little details, adding a personal touch and presented in an accurate way, became a gourmet dish. Absolutely recommended.
All the plates that we had the pleasure to taste were mouth-watering. Unmissable is the Loc Lak, so tender beef seasoned amazing and combined with delicious Kampot pepper sauce. Simply incredible! For the sweet tooth readers, you should definitely end your meal with one of great desserts proposed, the fried bananas with home-made coconut ice cream.
The restaurant is located in the heart of Siem Reap, making it the perfect way to conclude your day after you visit Angkor Wat. Trust us, that you will not find better place to taste the traditional Cambodian cuisine than this!
