Located directly in the banks of Ynya Lake outside of Yangon, you will find this restaurant run by two cheerful and easy-going Italian brothers.
The scenery couldn’t be better, moreover if it’s not rainy season. You will be able to have dinner in the terrace or in the garden with magnificent views over the lake or under a carpet of stars.
Having Italian owners can give you already a hint on how good the restaurant can get, but what if we say that the chef is an also Italian Michelin-star cook who created by himself the entire menu? The result is exactly what you expect, something marvelous.
We started with one of the things that we miss the most by far: Antipasto all’Italiana! A delicious plate with a variety of samples of cold cuts and cheeses, imported all the way from Italy. Among the excellent plates, Eugenia enjoyed the most the Tortelli alla Maurizzio. Home-made pasta stuffed with ricotta and spinach, covered by a creamy mushroom sauce. For me, it’s really difficult to choose only one plate, but probably I would stick with Grilled lamb chops with wine sauce.
All the meal accompanied with excellent wines. And of course concluded with yummy desserts, a classic Italian tiramisú and a hot chocolate fondant tart, served with homemade ice cream.
Finally, we have to say this is not at all a budget restaurant, and not even a medium one, but if you are looking for the finest Italian dining experience in Myanmar, this is definitely the place.
By the way, don’t forget in the end of your meal to ask to try some of the digestives elaborated also by the chef. Our favorite one was the cream of bailey’s leaves!
