After many months travelling around, stepping inside Pizza And The City, thanks to the smells and the flavors, really felt like home. Don’t get me wrong, I love trying new and different food, but I missed the real Italian tastes.
Due to the high quality of the ingredients used, most of them imported directly from Italy, and the home-made products as pasta, pesti, bread and liquors your dinning experience at this restaurant will be excellent.
Of course being Fiorentino, the owner, from Napoli, in his menu couldn’t miss the pizza. Done respecting the traditions by an as well Neapolitan pizzaiolo, and cooked in a wood oven. Without doubt, it conquered Jordi’s taste who declared this was the best pizza he ever ate. On the other hand, I appreciated the most the pasta that we tried. Home-made pasta, perfectly seasoned with simple and genuine ingredients. If I have to decide my favourite one, definitely was the tortelloni stuffed with mozzarella, anchovy and tomato, simply mouth-watering.
Besides our personal taste, we have to say that all the courses that we tried were really tasty. Beginning from the rustic appetizer, home-made bread and grissini to dunk in the pesto of dry tomatoes, literally finger-liking to the fresh and original combination of the salad flavours. From the tender and delicate tuna, to the classic, but always yummy dessert, mascarpone with savoiardi. Everything obviously combined with drinks only of Italian production.
To properly conclude your meal in an Italian way, you should definitely order an espresso, followed by a digestive. Why not the home-made limoncello?
