Susie Wong’s Beers & Buns is a small restaurant right in the middle of Khao San Road, next to the street with its same name, Susie Rd. While passing by this busy and famous street of Bangkok, do not hesitate to take a break here. The staff is nice, attentive and they serve the food so fast.
Of course from the name itself you will understand which are their specialties. So even if you will not get a full meal, it’s definitely worth to pass by and try one (or why not, more!) of the awesome buns that they prepare. They have the perfect size for a snack, so if you feel a bit peckish these are a great choice to get full.
There are six different kinds of buns and we had the two signatures ones. Me, the Hogan’s BBQ Bao that has BBQ pork with tomato salsa, sesame dressing and bacon, and Eugenia had the JD’s Lip Tingle that had also BBQ pork but was mixed with feta cheese, roasted onion and tomato chili jam. Both were delicious!
The drinks also are good and besides the cocktails and beers, the most requested are the buckets with different beverages, as Vodka, Sang Som and Mojito, and between them we tried this last one.
Even if the place is small, is cozy and nicely decorated with pictures of customers stuck on the walls. You can also decide of course if you want it to take away or eat it there. And what is most important is that the prices are really great.
