Having opened only a few months ago, Yeti is a really new hostel in the always alive capital city of Tajikistan. It’s located in the east of the city, in a really quiet neighboorhood where actually there are also a few other hostels, that as some people who were staying there told us, were way too busy. At Yeti, you will find many travelers, but you will also have your space not only in your room but also in the common areas. And to get to the center you can easily do it with a marshrutka that passes by in front.
In the first floor, there is a big main room with many sofas, pouffes and a big flat-screen TV to chill, and a computer to use. Outside there is a garden where you can camp if you are willing to, using your own tent or renting one there per night. Downstairs you will find the huge kitchen, where the complimentary breakfast will be served every morning. And finally on the first floor, you will have all the rooms.
There are different kinds of room: from private double ones to 4 or 8 beds dorms, with AC and without. Also, there are many toilets inside of the hostel, which is great when the occupancy is higher. In all the rooms and common areas, everything is new, beautifully decorated and moreover, really spacious.
We loved the fact that you can see how for the owners and staff it’s not only a job but a way to meet and take care of travelers. A nice proof of that is that every Thursday they will do Tajik Plov night! Which starts with all of you going to the market, buying all the ingredients for the well-known Central Asian dish, bringing them back home and cooking a huge plov pan in the garden. All this for 20 TJS per person (2,3 USD), lovely!
