L’annexe is a french restaurant you will find in the surroundings of the center of Siem Reap, that surely will offer you an outstanding dining experience.
Right after we ordered, they brought us a delicious entrée (pureed soup and crackers) to accompany our drinks while we were waiting for the food to be served. Between all the appetizers, we had the caviar d’avocats and the Flammekueche, one of the highlights of the menu since it comes from where the chef was born: Alsace, France. A slim and crispy dough topped with different ingredients as french cheese, mushrooms or ham, and perfectly cooked in the oven. Yummy!
For the main courses, we had the pleasure to try duck breast and boeif bourguignon, both simply amazing. The meats were perfectly right cooked, served with home-made pasta and roasted potatoes as a side-dish, and with sauces accompanying them all that could not be tastier and better chosen for the occasion.
After enjoying the main courses, do not hesitate to ask for the dessert menu, since the chef not only has long experience as a cook but also as a pâtissier, giving him the knowledge and imagination to create marvelous desserts. Between all the appetizing proposes, we decided to try the Black Pearl and the Ile flottante revisité, and again, both were excellent.
The place is cozy and offers the possibility to enjoy your meal also in a romantic garden. Between the professional and attentive staff, and the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, where you will find yourself, you will definitely have a great and pleasant dinner.
